Question
He is my daughter's friend. He joined the Marines a year ago this coming June. He's 22, he used to be our neighbor and he had seizures and panic attacks. Now he's gone thru basic, is stationed in Hawaii and he WANTS OUT of the Marines. He says his 'papers are with the General' that he just has to sign them and he's out. This guy fakes this stuff, I remember him telling me how to fake seizures. How did he ever get into the Marines?? And he's really in there because my daughter sees his myspace pics.Is it THAT easy to get out of the Marines??? He told me that he's on 60 mgs of Paxil yet goes off base to drink, and alcohol & Paxil don't mix.He keeps saying he's coming home yet no date is given. He was 'working' every day, now he's not. He's saying the Marines will pay to have his furniture(couches, T.V.)shipped back to Florida.I'm confused & so is my daughter. I'm ashamed of the guy. What a wimp. It's almost like he joined for a free trip & now he's done 'playing Marine'. Help us understand, please?

Answer
Debbie...

Sometimes the wool does get pulled over the DoD's eyes. If you know for a fact that this guy is doing this ....which is defrauding the U.S. Government... Then you need to get in contact with his commander and let him in on the con!! One thing I can t stand is  someone who is frauding the govt...

But on the otherhand, mabe now he is having them....Whos to believe.
The military docs are smart cookies... They can look at a catscan or an MRI and tell if you are having a siezure or not. If this guy is that good, then maby we need to enlist him in the CIA for covert ops!!

The best thing for your daughter to do is tak eit all with a grain of salt. If he is infact dfrauding the govt....someone will find out and then he will be the sorry one. Sounds to me like this guy is a story teller and the book needs to be closed!!
