Question
I have an BS in Aviation Administration and am currently in progress of getting a MA in History. I am 22 and when I am done I will be 24. The idea of service is new to me, so if I decided to enter the Air Force what would my education do for me? Would I start at the same level as others? Just curious as to what an advanced degree means in the military.

Answer
Your education means alot in the military, especially the air force. You are in a good position to get in as an officer ...if you wish...or get in as an enlisted person. It all depends on what you are trying to accomplish with your career?? With the Air Force however you have to make the decision either to go active duty or reserves, there is no transefering between like other services. If you decide to be an officer, then you will be a department head/ manager....more or less a desk job. If you go enlisted, you are actually doing the job... evenually as you gain rank, it turns into a management level job. just like the civillian world, but with a military twist.

Either way, you can use your education to your benifit...

If you think that you cant handle the answer that I give you, then don't ask the question...... If you are planning on joining the military, your number 1 decision factor in making this kind of move is that you need to be more concerned about serving your country than your country serving you!! All the benefits are the best that you can find. Education is at a premium right now and its the most rewarding thing that you can do. If I dont answer right away probably means that I am busy, but have patience, I will get to you.
