Question
ok...i had been EPTS discharged(from the army) uncharacterized of course with an RE code of a 3 i believe. i tried to get back in after the 6 month waiting period, and i was given the run around something fierce. the recruiters told me to get a clean bill of health and to write a letter...and did both. but for some reason they were still unable to get me back in. then i was instructed to get my military med records from somewhere in st. louis and i sent out the letter to request it. about three weeks later i get a letter stating that they arent in st. louis. then i was instructed to contact the VA but i havent a clue on how to do this. what can i do and how much will it take to get me back into the army or ANY service?

Answer
Make sure that you are requesting your records from the right agency...If you were active duty, you need to request from the Nationa Records Archives at www.archives.gov   If you are reserve, then you have to get your records at Denver ARPC.

It takes some time and you most often have to request more than once..

I am very blunt and straight forward and will make no attempts to BS you. I will give you the best information that I possible can can. If you think that you cant handle the answer that I give you, then don't ask the question...... If you are planning on joining the military, your number 1 decision factor in making this kind of move is that you need to be more concerned about serving your country than your country serving you!! All the benefits are the best that you can find. Education is at a premium right now and its the most rewarding thing that you can do. If I dont answer right away probably means that I am busy, but have patience, I will get to you.
