Question
I 'am a veteran of desert Storm,Desert shield 91' campaign, I recieved an other than honorable discharge from the Marine Corps in August of 1992. I had no serious thing on my record i just got real lazy and didn't think i had to show up for certain muster calls, runs got in some fights etc.. To sum it all up i was just being rebellious towards my superiors. Now, I'am a Pastor of a church here in Dallas,Tx and have been active in ministry for 7 yrs. My question is #1 Is it possible for me to recieve an upgrade on my discharge? #2 If so how, and who do i address? Sincerely, Semper Fi Pastor Bryan Redfearn Cross Street Church of Dallas...God bless our Men & Women

Answer
Pastor Bryan,

You would have to request a records change thru the military. The first step is to retrieve your records from the cave (National Archives) in St. Louis. Once you have this, on the VA website, there is a place where you can request a change to military records...

If it is a career in the military you are looking for or thinking about I most likely have the answer. I still have contacts with in the recruiting field and if I don't know the answer then I have folks who do where I can find the answer. I am very blunt and straight forward and will make no attempts to BS you. I will give you the best information that I possible can can. If you think that you cant handle the answer that I give you, then don't ask the question...... If you are planning on joining the military, your number 1 decision factor in making this kind of move is that you need to be more concerned about serving your country than your country serving you!! All the benefits are the best that you can find. Education is at a premium right now and its the most rewarding thing that you can do. If I dont answer right away probably means that I am busy, but have patience, I will get to you.
