Careers: Military--Army, Navy, Airforce, Marines, Coast Guard/Breach of enlistment contract

Question
Ive been in the Navy for three years.  I originally came in as a Nuke.  I graduated A school and accepted accelerated advancement.  After a year on security clearance hold, I was dissenrolled for being on hold too long and never started the advanced training.  I recently found out that I now have a secret clearance. The Navy says im still going to have to serve 5 years even though I had to accept an accelerated advancement extension to enroll in the Nuclear program.  I never received an enlistment bonus either.  The intsructions state that I could have requested discharge at the time of dissenrollement but I wasn't informed of this.  I believe I might have a breach of contract and would appreciate your opinion.  My reason for seeking a discharge is to inter-service transfer to the Army.

Answer
What you need to do is get your ducks in a row and gather all your enlistment docs etc and take it to the Navy IG for review. If there has been a breach they will allow for the discharge...The burden of Proof is in you at this point. The review of your military records by the IG should turn up any wrong doings ..

If you think that you cant handle the answer that I give you, then don't ask the question...... If you are planning on joining the military, your number 1 decision factor in making this kind of move is that you need to be more concerned about serving your country than your country serving you!! All the benefits are the best that you can find. Education is at a premium right now and its the most rewarding thing that you can do.
