Question
Is it ok for an E-4 to date an E-6 if they are not in the same unit, but have the same MOS?

Answer
Dear Danielle --

The Army has become very strict on the fraternization issues.  However, if you are both enlisted and not in the same chain of command, you can date.  Be warned that many people will frown upon this because an E-6 is significantly senior to an E-4, and there is the chance of undue influence in the relationship.

Your MOS is not an issue in the dating relationship, but your command relationship is.  Consider carefully if this will hurt either of your careers before you get too serious.

I wish you both all the best.  Thank you for your service.
