Question
Does the military actually make you lose all sense of individuality? How is the war in Iraq being handled by the army? What are the requirements to join the army (can someone with asthma join)?

Answer
The military if anything strengthens both your individuality and your abilities in working as a team. The military builds your self confidence.

The Army does not handle the Iraqi situation...The Department of Defense does. We just do the job we are told to do. The business of War is why we do what we do. Its like if you look at the mirror. You see yourself in the mirror. Your right hand is the Army. You left hand is the Air Force... Your right foot the Navy and your left foot the Marines. Each is its own entity. Your eyes would be the Department of Defense. The brain consisting of the President and the Congress and Senate. The eyes see that you need to do certain tasks, the eyes, have to inform the brain of an issue, the brain makes the decisions and send it back to the eyes, then the eyes and the brain work together to send the service of choice the message of what needs to be done, the hand or foot moves and completes a task.

I know that sounded a little juvinile, butthe basics is how the whole system works.

The services that are involved in the conflict in Iraq and afghanistan are doing the mission set fourth by the brain.

Now for the answer to the real question? Yes the army is handling the situation superbly. The media is the cause for a lot of heart ache and grief. The media has no place in the war zone in my opinion.

and finally, asthma...no. Reason is that even though the person may be able to function fine in certain cercumstances, The availability of the necessary life saving time and drugs may not be available in a sticky situation. Lets say you are in a fire fight and all of a sudden you have an attack...you put your buddies at risk, becasue now they have to tend to your problem. It hurts the mission....
