Question
I had a question about a post you made about a person being sent home from basic training for testing positive for drugs.   Any information would be appreciated.

Do you know how soon they would tell the person that they tested positive?  I have read that they would find out in the first week or two but I have also read that some people didn't find out until week four or even up until before graduation.   Someone I know is in basic training and has been there four weeks and I'm trying to find out if there's any chance the person could still find out that they tested positive.  They smoked marijuana one time about three weeks before basic training so I do not know if this would show on the test.

Thanks for any info.

Answer
Well depending on how long they have been in BMT, it all depends on when they do the drug screen there. They do a drug screen at the MEPS the day they ship out ....so between the two, this is the web they get caught in. Now it all depends on the amount smoked, the height & weight of the individual smoking the weed....If a person is of slender weight and smoked it all once....its out of your system usually with in 14 days. Those who are heavier and smoke more ...up to 20 days...

All depends on how backed up the lab is, but if they haven't caught it by now...more than likely that they wont... Best thing for him...is to never do it again...
