Careers: Military--Army, Navy, Airforce, Marines, Coast Guard/Multiple Waivers

Question
I have a few issues that I need waivers for in order to join the Navy-  6 minor
traffic violations, tattoos that are larger than my closed hand on my forearm,
and the worst which is 7 years ago (at age 19) I failed a drug test for
marijuana at MEPS for the army.  So 3 waivers, I'm assuming.

I haven't done drugs in more than 5 years, and I now have a college
education.  I took the pre-asvab test at the recruiter's office the other day
and scored a 90.  I would like to enter the Navy as an IT, which requires secret
clearance.

My questions:
Will the Navy consider working with me on 3 waivers?
Will any of my offenses DQ me for a secret clearance?

Thank you for any help.

Answer
I assume that the Nave recruiter told you that you would need the waivers? ....if this is do, then the recruiter will run the waivers, from what infromation you are telling me, your biggest problem is your tatoos...I do not think tha tfailing a urinalisis at the MEPS will DQ you, but it may pose wuestions. They can do blood tests to see if you have been using. I believe your attitude and your education at present will be your best benifactors...stay positive.

If you think that you cant handle the answer that I give you, then don't ask the question...... If you are planning on joining the military, your number 1 decision factor in making this kind of move is that you need to be more concerned about serving your country than your country serving you!! All the benefits are the best that you can find. Education is at a premium right now and its the most rewarding thing that you can do. If I dont answer right away probably means that I am busy, but have patience, I will get to you.
