Question
When I was 18, I was charged with Malicious Wounding which was brought down to an assault and battery.  In order for the misdemeanor to get dismissed I had to complete a domestic violence program and I was put on probation for 6 months.  Everything was completed successfully and I managed to get the charged dismissed earlier than it scheduled.  I'm very interested on joining the Air Force but I just found out that I do not qualify to join and there’s no waiver for that particular case.  My question is if Air Force reserve will take me with the dismissed misdemeanor I have on my record or is the Army my only option???

Answer
The AF is a hard nut to crack. The entry standards are high. You only mention the AF & the ARMY, have approached the Navy or the Marines or mabe the Coast Guard? I know that the ARMY can do alot of miricles when it comes to getting folks into the service....keep researching...

If you are planning on joining the military, your number 1 decision factor in making this kind of move is that you need to be more concerned about serving your country than your country serving you!! All the benefits are the best that you can find. Education is at a premium right now and its the most rewarding thing that you can do.
