Question
I am in the Navy.  I just failed my 3rd PRT.  I've been in for 4.5 yrs.  I didn't fail the physical part just the BCA.  I was wondering when they discharge me, is there any way that I can come back in?  If so is there a waiting period?  With my time in rank am I able to get back in with the same job and not have to return to school?

Answer
Its going to depend on a few things.

1. you RE code, this is a re-entry code. If its andything but an RE-4 you are ok.

2. your physical condition at the time you reapply...obviously they are not going to allow you to re-enter if you are still unable to pass the PRT.

You shouldnt have to go back toi school if you re apply with in a reasonlable amount of time, if you wait 2 years or more then you may have to. I would look at getting back into shape asap and then getting into the reserve to stay in the system. I know that the navy takes its reservists back to active duty.
