Question
Hi, just recently got an opening for a job and i will leave for Air Force bmt September 23rd.  I will be an aircraft trasportation apprentice and I know those are going to be four long months but my wanted to know if there is anything you could add any to the job description.  Also will I be able to choose more or less the area I would like to be in(maybe out of the country)?

Answer
Well isnt this YOUR lucky Day!!

I have been a 2T2X1 for many years. The Air Trans careerfield is a very broad careerfield meaning that you have the opprotunity to do several different jobs in it. At first I didnt like it and at some bases there is alot of big port politics that I really didnt care for, but overall the its a great career. THe one thing that I will tell you is that you have to experience more than one base to really get the satisfaction of seeing how the port works...just always remember that.

Most folks in this career field get shipped off to a big port first. So look at going to McChord,Travis, Dover, Charleston or McGuire stateside....Ramnstein,Yokota,Kadena or Turkey overseas first....

I still have contacts with in the recruiting field and if I don't know the answer then I have folks who do where I can find the answer. I am very blunt and straight forward and will make no attempts to BS you. I will give you the best information that I possible can can. If you think that you cant handle the answer that I give you, then don't ask the question...... If you are planning on joining the military, your number 1 decision factor in making this kind of move is that you need to be more concerned about serving your country than your country serving you!! All the benefits are the best that you can find. Education is at a premium right now and its the most rewarding thing that you can do. If I dont answer right away probably means that I am busy, but have patience, I will get to you.
