Question
I retired on 29 FEB 2008 after 20 Years, Information Systems Technician Chief Petty Officer.  Can I go back to active duty to do the 24 years?

Answer
Dear Eric --

If you have not yet reached mandatory retirement age, or maximum years for your rank, you are eligible to leave retirement and return to duty.  You would have to meet the physical requirements of service, and the Navy would have to have a billet for your rank and specialty that needs to be filled.

You should contact your Navy Human Resources Center, to discuss your options with a personnel management specialist.  Good luck to you and thank you for your service.
