Question
QUESTION: Hey how are you doing? My question is i was given a medical discharge eronious enlistment and a re code of 4 i have bad vision problems i am planning surgery to correct my vision could i rejoin if problem is corrected i have scarrring in the eyes need corneal transplant how long would the process take after my vision is corrected

ANSWER: Sam,

The chances are not going to be good. Erronious enlistment is serious in th eeyes of the military....but I will not say no because stranger things have happened...Get the surgery, recover, get checked out and get the greenlight from your doc....just make sure that the doc wites you are very detailed letter as to the condition of the results of the surgery and then try again. You will more than likely have to have that RE code changed. This you will have to applyu to the service that gave it to you.

QUESTION: when i first got in i was denied then i got in with a waiver for the scarring then upon different opinions from different doctors i was given the option to get a waiver or go home i took the going home option. but i am assuming that with surgery my vision can be corrected and that was my only problem..  i should have went with the waiver when they asked me if i wanted it thanks for your help please tell me what you think it was waived before

Answer
I would still try, the regs change from time to time....it may be in your favor? Whats the worse they will tell you ...NO right? Whats it going to hurt going in knowing that the worse is going to be no....what if they tell you your in? thats the suprise!!
