Question
I was honorably discharged for pregnancy.  How long is the waiting period to get back in the military?

Answer
Dear Karen --

You will not be able to return to the military, if you are a single Mom, unless you give up custody of your child.

If you are married, and your husband is able to care for the children, then you can try to return to service as soon as your doctor says you are fit and you meet the weight requirements for enlistment.  If you re-enlist within three years of your discharge, you will not have to attend basic training again.  If you change military occupational specialties, you will have to attend AIT for the new MOS.

Good luck to you.
