Question
hi,
I am 24 and a Jr in college, and I was thinking about joining Air Force ROTC.  About 7 years ago I was in the Army national Guard, and was honerablly discharged with a R-3, becuase of scoliosis.  Since then I have been to the doctor and a specliaist, and have no issues with my back anymore, and my doctor says I am good to go.  My question is, knowing all this, do I have a chance of getting into ROTC?

Answer
That will depend on the Physical that you will have to take when you go apply for ROTC. Its a MEPS physical, but different. Contact the Commander of the ROTC unit at the school you want to attend. You will also need to get a letter from your attending Physician stating that you have no issues with the Scoliosis. You will have to prove to the MEPS doc that you are fit for duty.

If you are planning on joining the military, your number 1 decision factor in making this kind of move is that you need to be more concerned about serving your country than your country serving you!! All the benefits are the best that you can find. Education is at a premium right now and its the most rewarding thing that you can do.
