Question
Hi, just recently I was disqualified at MEPS during my physical because I was unknowingly pregnant. Does that mean that I could never join the Navy

Answer
Dear Cyesha --

No, you are not permanently disqualified.

If you lose the baby, you can try to enlist again 6 months after you have recovered.

You can try to enlist again 9 months after the baby is born, if you are fully recovered you are married and your husband in not in military service.

If you are not married, you can try to enlist again 9 months after your baby's birth, if you have fully recovered from the pregnancy and if you assign guardianship of your child to someone you trust.  That person will be expected to care for you child during your first tour, and anytime you are deployed.

I wish you all the best with the pregnancy and your future plans.
