QuestionFirst off I want to apologize for asking a question regarding the navy but I didnt know who else to ask. My boyfriend just left for basic training and I found out I was pregnant. When would I be able to Be with him or live with him or marry him because we want to do that we just dont know how to go about it...
Thank you so much!
AnswerDear Jessica --
You may marry him at any time. Unfortunately, he will not have very much free time during his training, so unless you go to visit him, you won't be able to get married until he finishes basic training.
Even if you get married, you will not be able to live together, until he completes his all his initial training and is sent to his first duty assignment.
Getting married will provide you, and eventually your baby, with access to medical care via the Tricare system. If you are serious as a couple and intend to be a family, you should marry soon, so you get access to good medical care. However, if you are still covered in your parents' insurance plan, or have other good medical coverage, it would make sense to wait to marry, until he is at his first duty station, has an apartment, and you can join him.
Good luck to all of you.
