QuestionMa'am you mentioned the Degree compleation program to me on my last question, could you further explain that program, would i go to a university of my choice as a full time student, or college on base?
AnswerDear Joey --
You would need to get within 18 to 24 months of completing a degree, by taking online classes, night school, or weekend courses. Or a combination of the above. You would request being exempted from the duty roster on days you have class. You can also CLEP certain classes based on your military experience and training to reduce the number of classes you must take.
Once you are close enough to our target degree, then you apply to the program. You would be able to go to the school of your choice, as long as it accepts your existing courses and allows you to complete your degree in the time allocated. It can be at a university of your choice, and you will be PCSed to the school's area to live if it is not close to your current duty station. Some sabbatical programs require you to apply to three schools, one of which must be at the in-state tuition rate. If accepted to the program, you would be told which of the three programs you can attend. Be certain you will like all of the schools you put on your application.
Keep up the hard work. Please write back, if you have other questions or concerns. Good luck!
