Question
I am trying to join the Air Force and have recently been to MEPS. I have been disqualified on the basis of my eyesite and the doctor said that I will need a medical waiver. My diopters are -9.00 and -8.75, but correctable to 20/20. I got an 89 QT on my ASVAB at MEPS. What are the chances that my waiver will be approved?

Answer
Dear Christopher --

If your eyesight is correctable to 20/20 and you are otherwise qualified to enlist, you have a very high likelihood of receiving your waiver.  You will not qualify for service in the cockpit of an aircraft, but will be qualified for other support work.

Good luck to you.
