Question
I am looking into joining the Marine Corps Reserves, and if I do, I would like to go to basic as soon as possible.  However, I am supposed to start school in the spring, so I would not be able to attend MOS training afterwards.  Is there a waiver to transfer MOS training until the summer?  I was looking into the IIADT program, however I was told by my recruiter something to the effect of either I was not qualified to do so since it is the fall and not summer or the program is no longer an option for recruits.

 If your recruiter told you no, then that's the answer.  They will have the most up to date information.   As far as I know, that program is only offerred in the summer, and it's known as 'split option' (or it used to be).  If the recruiter says it's not available in the fall, then it's not available.

Intelligence Specialist: MOS 0231 10 years working as an Intelligence Analyst with a Fixed Wing Fighter Squadron, Force Service Support Group, and at Headquarters, Marine Corps. Field Radio Operator: MOS 2531. Served as a Platoon Sergeant in a Communications Platoon assigned to MEU Service Support Group 24 (Special Operations Capable). Did a hitch in the Army reserves as an 11B (Infantryman), 3 years. Finished out my career in the Air National Guard as a BioEnvironmental Engineer MOS 4B3X1, did that for a few years. I"ve been collecting and selling Marine Corps and other military uniforms, medals, and field gear since I was 8 years old.
