Question
I received an RE-4 reenlistment code and a kbk1 separation code on my did-214. I was Honorably discharged in October of 2005. I enlisted into the California Army National Guard in January on 2008. Is it possible for me to go back to the Marine corps after this enlistment if I chose to do so?

As long as the RE-4 wasn't for disciplinary reasons, and as long as you get an honorable from the CANG, you should be able to. However, each situation is different and HQMC sometimes gives a thumbs down with the RE-4. Talk with a recruiter when it gets closer to your EAS from the army and see what guidance they give you before you jump ship.

Field Radio Operator: MOS 2531. Served as a Platoon Sergeant in a Communications Platoon assigned to MEU Service Support Group 24 (Special Operations Capable). Did a hitch in the Army reserves as an 11B (Infantryman), 3 years. Finished out my career in the Air National Guard as a BioEnvironmental Engineer MOS 4B3X1, did that for a few years.
I"ve been collecting and selling Marine Corps and other military uniforms, medals, and field gear since I was 8 years old.
