Careers: Military--Army, Navy, Airforce, Marines, Coast Guard/Enlisting in Navy with Medical Waiver
Expert: Cynthia Bedell - 1/20/2009
QuestionQUESTION: I am trying to enlist in the Navy with an RE code of 3 and
a separation code of JFL(i.e.I know I will need a medical
waiver). I have all my paper work but no recruiter does not
want to work with me. Several recruiters have said it can
be done but there will be a lot of paper work. How can I
find a recruiter who is willing to work with me. I have
done my part in gathering past and current medical
information but it is still not good enough for them. Is
there anyone I can contact that would at least help me or
get the process started or at least direct me in the right
direction? I live near zip codes 31768 and 32301. Thanks in
advance.
ANSWER: Dear Monica --
Due to the current economy, recruiters do not have to offer very many waivers. Enlistments of recruits that do not need waivers is very high.
Unfortunately, until recruiters start missing their enlistment numbers, you will have difficulty finding a recruiter that will work with you. Your waiver package is going to be extremely difficult to defend given your re-entry code.
The only office vaguely close to you that might work with you is in Jacksonville Florida.
US NAVAL RECRUITING 904-398-5118
4539 Beach Blvd # 2
Jacksonville, Florida 32207
Good luck to you.
