Question
I am an RN turning 43 this March, have I missed the boat?
Is it too late to think about a military career? My dad joined when he was 35, that was cut off at the time, can I repeat history?

Answer
Dear Bonnie --

I think you must join before March.  The cut-off age is 42 currently, and I believe that age still requires a waiver.

As a practicing RN you can probably get many waivers if you are otherwise physically qualified.

See a recruiter from the Army Medical Command as soon as possible, if you are serious about joining.  You will get the advice you need on a direct commission as an Army Nurse.

Do not visit a regular recruiting office, as they will not steer you toward the medical field.

Good luck to you.
