Question
Hi Matt,

I am currently an active duty Army officer in flight school.  I am very interersted in an interservice transfer to the Marine Corps and am wondering how that would work as far as flight training is concerned. Will I have to repeat all of the training that I am doing now or just a transition course? Will I be able to maintain my rank (1LT)? I am also interested in going JAG.  Since USMC JAGs maintain their unrestricted line officer status, is there any possibility of being on flight status and getting some hours while serving as a JAG.  Thanks in advance for your help.

Answer
Well you cant be a pilot and a JAG at the same time, so your first step would be to pick which one you want to be. Second, naval flight school and army flight school are totally different so most likely yes, you would have to do it all again. If you do transfer over, then yes you would maintain your rank.
