Question
Hello-

My husband was discharged from the Air Force for misconduct (two article 15's) with a RE 2B and separation code JKM. Will he ever be able to join the military again?  He would love to go back into the Air Force but was also join any branch that will take him.

I got the following information from this website ...

"Individuals with an Air Force RE Code of "2" are usually ineligible to reenlist in the Air Force, but might be eligible to join another military service, if the circumstances which resulted in the code no longer apply, or a waiver is issued."

A code "2B" indicates he was discharged under General or other-than-honorable conditions.  Those are pretty serious conditions for discharge.  The Air Force wouldn't want him back, but another branch might.
