Question I was wondering if it is possible to join the Marines with mitral valve prolapse. It is very mild and the doctor says he can barely hear it. Can i get waivers for it or am i automatically disqualified?
Thanks
Answer Dear Max --
You would need a medical waiver for your condition, and I am not sure that it is waiverable. You would need to check with a recruiter, to see if you are even eligible for a waiver.
If you want to serve your country, but cannot enlist in the military, you could try a Department of Defense civilian job. To see what jobs are available, please got to the USA Jobs web site: http://www.usajobs.gov/
Good luck to you.
