Question
QUESTION: hi my daughter has been in basic training for the air force and today i received a call she stated they said she has chronic nervous tics they said they are sending her home go to the doctor get on medications and come back...can you help me understand this? will she be able to go back? can you take medications while in the service? any information will be so greatfully appreciated thank you

ANSWER: Carrie:

The Air Force typically does this for minor medical conditions, believe it or not.  She'll be allowed to return to basic once the problem is under control.  She'll be able to explain it all more fully once she gets home.

QUESTION: thank you for answering so quickly i have had such a hard time dealing with her leaving but she has honestly wanted to join the airforce for the last 3 years and signed her papers as soon as she turned 18..i have one more question... are you allowed to take medication in airforce for that kinda of problem? and her tech school training is for munitions expert will that be a problem?? as before thank you so much.

Answer
Carrie:

It sounds to me like you can, if they are sending her home with instructions to get the medication, and then go back.  If she can't do it with the job she's picked (and I honestly don't know), then they'll assign her another one.

Expertise

Questions relating to US Marine Corps; rank, awards, uniforms, career choices. I can also help people spot and expose fakes (people pretending to be Marines or have awards they didn`t earn). Considering the Marines as a career? Or another branch, like the Air National Guard? Drop me a line. HOWever..know that I am NOT a recruiter. I can offer my expert opinion and advice, but can't (and won't) over rule what a recruiter says, they are the 'on duty' expert.

Experience
