Question
I am currently a 31E in the Army reserves. I finished BCT and AIT in August 09 and have currently started drilling with my unit. My question is can i switch from the Army Reserves to Active duty Navy? My husband has been in the Navy for 9 years and hits 10 years in june 2010 and was planning on going Army then. Which is why i joined the Army reserves but he has been thinking of staying Navy. I want to go Active but only if we were in the same branch. So if he stays Navy i would like to go Active Navy if possible.

Answer
Hi Sara,

Military members can request to transfer from any reserve componant to any active duty componant, but it's not as simple as most people might believe. See: http://usmilitary.about.com/od/guardandreserve/a/reservetransfer.htm
