Question
What is the process for an Army Officer to become a Marine Officer after graduating from West Point

Answer
Dear Dale --

If you are a cadet at West Point now, you want to petition the Army and the Navy now, to allow you to be commissioned as a Marine Officer.  If you wait until you are already in the Army, you will have to serve two to three years as an Army officer before you can do an inter-service transfer.

If you are worried your TAC would not approve of your desire to serve in the Marines, talk to your academic counselor.  They should be able to assist you with your petition process.

Good luck to you.
