Question
I am thinking about re-enlisting in the Navy or reserves. I served in the US Navy from 1993-1995. I am 36 I was going to re-enter the Navy. A friend of mine is in the reserves and said he'd checked to see if I could. The recruiter needed my re-enter code from my discharged papers. Mine state an E-7 re-enter code. He said this was bad and I may not be able to re-enter. I don't understand. When I left the military I was up for E-4. I have an honorable discharge. So what's the problem?
Hi Michael,
I've never heard of an RE Code of "E-7." Generally, RE codes run from "1" to "4." This can be found in block 27 of the DD Form 214.
