Question HI there, I have a question. Im 20 years old and I'm very determind on enlisting into the Marine Corps, but I have some concerns and just need some answers for reassurance. I am a lil over weight and am working on my weight in oder to join. Recently i've found out that i have slight high blood pressure due to me being overweight, and now im eatting right and doing what i can to lower it before my enlistment. My parents have decided to become foster parents so that means everyone in the house hold will had to take a physical/ backround check, will the results of my BP on the physical effect my enlistment??? I do not want to be DQ, please get back to me thank you !!
Answer Ilene:
First and foremost, have you spoken with a recruiter yet? If not, do so...As soon as possible. Your weight will be an issue if you cannot meet height and weight standards. Your recruiter will be able to help you with that by suggesting excercises and things you can do to improve your weight issues. But you have to see or call them ASAP.
