Hi,
My question is.....

If I am 17 years old and my fiance is 20, with my parents consent can we get married in the state of North Carolina, he is enslisted as an active duty marine in NC

Congratulations on your upcoming marriage.

Yes, under age 18 you need your parent's permission in NC and you must show proof of age. This can be accomplished by providing your driver's license, Military or State ID, passport or certified birth certificate.  You will also need to show proof of your Social Security number. This can be by a W-2 form, payroll stub, or any official document with your Social Security number on it.

You do NOT have to be a resident of North Carolina and North Carolina does NOT have a waiting period and does NOT require you to have any blood tests or physical exams.

You can buy your license at the County Clerk's office for $50 - cash only, and can be married by
any ordained or licensed clergymen, or magistrate.  Your license will be valid for 60 days.

Two witnesses are required.

He does not need his commander's permission but he needs to notify him as a courtesy.
