Question
QUESTION: Sir, I am a potential recruit, I cleared my ASVAB with 52 AFQT, I have 4 years college degree and I have foreign language skills, which Army is really looking for these days.

I visited MEPS 3 weeks ago for my Physical, everything was going well, except that I felt little nervous and excited about making a big change in my life, and this lead to increase my BP, In MEPS they took 3 times, everytime it was more then their cut off numbers, Now I sent 3 days BP reading from my civilian Doctor, all the reading looks good, My Recruiter said the result should come within a week, but so far no result, its been more then a week.

So, I have these questions

1. How long this process takes?
2. Based on what criteria they approve high BP waiver?

If you can reply me these question I will really appreciate

Thank you.

ANSWER: You should be good, but when you go back down, if it is high again, they can reject you.  MEPs can be busy and work backed up, they will get to you.

QUESTION: Sir, are you saying even though I get my waiver, I have to go for another BP check in MEPS? as according to my recruiter once waiver is approved, I can sign my contract straight. Is this correct?

Thanks

Answer
Only if you get a waiver, you did not mention he put you in for a waiver.  However, they do not give high BP waivers.  MEPs clears you if you show better BP for 3 days in a row.  MEPs has the right to verify your BP, just dont be nervouse next time you go.

Expertise

I am a National Guard recruiter , been doing it for seven years and am a subject matter expert on qualifications for National Guard and I keep up to date on Regular Army regs and programs. I was in the Navy for 4 years and have 13 years in the Guard. I will not sugar coat my answers to you. They are usually short and to the point. If you need more in depth, ask me. Because each situation is different, alot of times you need to actually talk to a recruiter and let them evaluate your situation in person, by looking at your documents, issues etc. If I suggest this, it would be in your best interest to do so. Finally...thank you for your interest in serving this great nation of ours. Very few people can actually make the cut to serve let alone choose to do so. So thank you for wanting to and hopefully you will get a chance. Whatever branch you choose, thank you and good luck.
