Question
Hi I was DQ'd for enlistment, the Chief medical examiner sent me to get a consult and I swear the doctor didn't want to let me slip, so now I'm waiting for an SG waiver. The doctor said he was concerned about my record seeing as I have a Misdemonor and some traffic tickets. I got waivers for these for enlistment and they passed so should I worry about the SG waiver passing? and how long could this possibly be it's already been seven weeks.. I'm getting tired of waiting and I just wanna get going ya know.. Thanks for takin the time to read this

Answer
I dont know what an SG waiver is, never heard of it.  But you are waiting for a phyc waiver for your tickets, very common, and you will be fine.  It is something new the military is doing, since there is a direct corraltion between not obeying the law and conduct issues while in the military, but if it is for 1 misdemeanor and traffic, as long as none are DUI, you should be fine, but it can take several weeks to get approved, or just a few days.

Expertise

I am a National Guard recruiter , been doing it for seven years and am a subject matter expert on qualifications for National Guard and I keep up to date on Regular Army regs and programs. I was in the Navy for 4 years and have 13 years in the Guard. I will not sugar coat my answers to you. They are usually short and to the point. If you need more in depth, ask me. Because each situation is different, alot of times you need to actually talk to a recruiter and let them evaluate your situation in person, by looking at your documents, issues etc. If I suggest this, it would be in your best interest to do so. Finally...thank you for your interest in serving this great nation of ours. Very few people can actually make the cut to serve let alone choose to do so. So thank you for wanting to and hopefully you will get a chance. Whatever branch you choose, thank you and good luck.
