Careers: Military--Army, Navy, Airforce, Marines, Coast Guard/Failed Drug Test - Unexplained

Question
Hi,
My boyfriend failed a drug test a few days after we had gone to a concert.
He has been fighting this because he has never done any drugs. We had been drinking that night and he got a little out of control and blacked out. I thought he just drank too much.
I know for a fact that he would NEVER do any sort of drug and we have several witness that can vouch for his innocence.
He was able to fight NJP and now has a board meeting on Monday. The military lawyer says it does not look good for him althought he has been in the Navy for 8years and has been an excellent sailor and never been in any trouble prior.
I have been asked to go as a witness which I will definatly do, along with a few others.
Do you know of anything else I could to aid him in this? I pray that he does not get kicked out, this is his life. He never did anything wrong. There were some jerks at the concert, I think they may have slipped something in his drink. His piss test popped up for meth. very very small traces.
Any advice?

Answer
Hi Michelle;
   There are lots of things that could happen to your boyfriend because if the failed drug test, reduction in rank is one. lose of his security clearance is another. I really don't know what to tell you. I wish I could give you good news, but I cant. You being a witness is good. And maybe his friends who were at the concert could also be a witness. What you said about praying is a very good idea. Meth is just about the worst thing that could of showed up. Even though he is innocent, it might be a good idea if he would volunteer for some kind of treatment for drug abuse. Run that by his lawyer. Its sort of a catch 22. He is sort of damned if he does and damned if he don't. I wish I could be of more help but I don't want to tell you the wrong thing. A career is a terrible thing to lose because of a one time thing. When I was in SEAL Team, something like that would of been the worst thing that could happen. He will be in my prayers and I wish him the best of luck.
