Question
Four years ago my son was 18years old and tried to get in the navy.  He told his recruiter he had smoked pot, his asvab score was a 92.  the recruiter sent him to meps anyway and he failed the drug test. He has been drug free for 3 years,  he went to the navy recruiter again, scored 79 on his asvab, went to meps and they rejected him because of his drug test 4 years ago. Is there a waiver for this situation or will he never be able to fulfill his dream of working as an intelligence specialist in the Navy

Answer
Well I dont think that the drug test being 4 years old would matter and I am sure he could get a waiver if he were to try something besides the intellligence field. that requires a security cleearence which would be a problem because of past drug history. Have him work with his recruiter on this matter.
