Jason,

I'm off to a local university next year that offers AFROTC. My intentions are not to stay at that school, but to move to a bigger university after my sophomore year. This new college offers NROTC and my hopes are to transfer over to Marine ROTC. Since my state only has a few schools (4 or 5) with Marine ROTC, I was wondering if theres anyway possible I can go into AFROTC with essentially no strings attached? I just want the ROTC training and leadership skills right off the bat instead of waiting to transfer. Any advice you can give me as well?

 Truthfully, I have no idea how this works.  Try talking to a recruiter for each and see what the options are.  Be upfront with them on it.  I'd guess that unless you have 2 or 3 years invested into the program, you aren't committed to anything official.

Field Radio Operator: MOS 2531. Served as a Platoon Sergeant in a Communications Platoon assigned to MEU Service Support Group 24 (Special Operations Capable). Did a hitch in the Army reserves as an 11B (Infantryman), 3 years. Finished out my career in the Air National Guard as a BioEnvironmental Engineer MOS 4B3X1, did that for a few years. I"ve been collecting and selling Marine Corps and other military uniforms, medals, and field gear since I was 8 years old.
