Question
I am graduating in May as a double major (both Bachelor of Science degrees in Education) from a non-accredited college. Would I be able to go directly into officer training in the Air Force, or would I need to Enlist and earn another degree from an accredited college/university before applying for officer training.

 Thank You.

Answer
Adam,

The requirement is that you have a degree from an accredited college. What you may have to do is is get the transript from the college and have the recruiter submit that to the HQ recruiting command to see if they will accept it. If not, then you will have to find a school that will honor the credits. The good thing about the Air Force, is that you can CLEP for free... You may be looking at either entering another degree program or CLEPing the corses to get them accredited thru the CCaf and your TA program on base.

I usually dont say bad thibngs about schools who take your money and have no accreditation, but you got took in this situation. But with the Air Force benefits, you can over come this short fall in ed credits and come out on top with a degree that has some backing to it!!

I still have contacts with in the recruiting field and if I don't know the answer then I have folks who do where I can find the answer. I am very blunt and straight forward and will make no attempts to BS you. I will give you the best information that I possible can can. If you think that you cant handle the answer that I give you, then don't ask the question...... If you are planning on joining the military, your number 1 decision factor in making this kind of move is that you need to be more concerned about serving your country than your country serving you!! All the benefits are the best that you can find. Education is at a premium right now and its the most rewarding thing that you can do. If I dont answer right away probably means that I am busy, but have patience, I will get to you.
