Question
When I was younger, about 14-15, I smoked marijuana a few times, 3-4 times, and I, like a complete idoit also inhaled Nitrous (laughing gas) 2 times. I was wondering if I would have any chance at being granted a waiver and if I did, would this affect me down the road such as which types of jobs I can or can not have?

Answer
The MJ usage is a common thing and as long as you admit to it, I think the max allowable times used is like 14. SO that's OK, I'm not sure that the other thing is even considered... If it was huffing paint... automatic DQ.... Nitrous is what we used at the track every weekend and I have smelled my share of it. You have to use your head on that one, because its not a drug, it has many uses.

You should be ok to join provided that you are otherwise qualified.

If you think that you cant handle the answer that I give you, then don't ask the question...... If you are planning on joining the military, your number 1 decision factor in making this kind of move is that you need to be more concerned about serving your country than your country serving you!! All the benefits are the best that you can find. Education is at a premium right now and its the most rewarding thing that you can do. If I dont answer right away probably means that I am busy, but have patience, I will get to you.
