Question
Sir,
Thank you for answering my question previously...  Now I have another couple of questions.  I've been out of the USAF since '92 and planning on joining the ANG in Puerto Rico.   My question is about uniforms... Things have changed since '92.   Does the ANG issue the uniforms, since the uniforms that I have or had are outdated, obsolete and don't fit any longer, OR will I have to purchase them?  Just want to be prepared!
Now, my other question is concerning retirement!  I have 17 years active duty  and I took the SSB   (USAF).
How does this relate to time in the Air National Guard...
In other words, how many years will I have to do in the Air National Guard to obtain a 20 year retirement?  I understand that the ANG is reserve duty.  This I know...
Will my time with the Air National Guard count towards this 20 year retirement?  How is this calculated?
Sir, I hope that this question is not to confusing and I thank you for taking the time to answer me...

Sincerely,

Carlos

Answer
Carlos,

The way that I understand the SSB was for separating from active duty, I believe that there was some time that had to expire before you  reentered the service again. The Air Force Air Nat'l Guard is completely separate from the active sector so that shouldnt effect you. Double check with the recruiters to be sure, but I dont forsee an issue.

As for the uniforms, the unit will supply yuou with all the latest & greatest in Air Force garb!!!
