Question
Recently on a radio talk show a doctor mentioned that he was in the army reserves and that they were in need of medical personnel. He stated that there isn't any age limit to enlist in if it is in the medical fields. Is this true as I can't find any info about it? I'm a nurse assistant and hitting 50. I have never been in the military. I would not be joining for the benefits but would like to serve my country with my experience.

Answer
Your best bet MCJ is to go straight to the horses mouth and talk to the army recruiter. The Army Recruiting office does both areas active reserves and guard. These rules change with the needs of the Army so its better for you to go and chat with them. If you are not qualified for military service, the Medical Hospitals are ALWAYS looking for nursing staff... Im not sure where you live, but you can look at Military hospitals, clinics or the VA hospitals. You can serve your country with ether providing service to active duty or retirees.

If you think that you cant handle the answer that I give you, then don't ask the question...... If you are planning on joining the military, your number 1 decision factor in making this kind of move is that you need to be more concerned about serving your country than your country serving you!! All the benefits are the best that you can find. Education is at a premium right now and its the most rewarding thing that you can do.
