Careers: Military--Army, Navy, Airforce, Marines, Coast Guard/Hair for females

Question
I'm getting ready to leave for Air Force basic, and I'm stressing about what to do with my hair. It's long (like to the middle of my back), and I'm not sure if cutting it short or just leaving it in a bun would be the best option. I like my hair, so I might stay with the length for the most part. Now if I keep it long, am I allowed to part it down the center when pulling it back into a bun?

Answer
Alycia,

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, Im prepping for deployment.

My advise... It will make your life SOOOOOOOOOOoooooooo much easier in BMT... Cut it shorter   One of 2 ways, cut it to shoulder length.. You can still achieve a bun or just cut it short to where its up off the collar... The second is the easiest during training.... but its your preference. After you get to Tech school you can start letting it grow longer until you find a happy medium that works for you!!

If you think that you cant handle the answer that I give you, then don't ask the question...... If you are planning on joining the military, your number 1 decision factor in making this kind of move is that you need to be more concerned about serving your country than your country serving you!! All the benefits are the best that you can find. Education is at a premium right now and its the most rewarding thing that you can do. If I dont answer right away probably means that I am busy, but have patience, I will get to you.
