Question
Hi, I am currently 2 and a half years into my 4 year enlistment with the Marine Corps. At the end of this enlistment I am considering reenlisting into the Army. I am currently an e-4 and rate a score for e-5. i will be an e-5 before I get out of the Marine Corps. I would like to know what the Army would offer me, or if it would effect me possitively or negatively. What I mean is, will I still receive a reenlistment bonus? Will I have to go through there basic training? Will I keep my rank, or gain another? I have heard many rumors and I am hoping you can shed some light on the subject. Thankyou very much

Answer
This is more than likely what will happen is the army will take you down one in rank, you should get a bonus if they offer it to prior service, you shouldnt have to go to BMT, it will most likely be a direct duty situation. I have never heard of anyone gaining rank, unless its reserves or nat'l guard and its a rareity..when it does happen. For the best info...Contact a recruiting office...
