I am 36 and I am looking into joining the Navy Reserves. However, I want to fly. I have a privet pilots license already. I don't care what I do as long as my butt is in an airplane. Everything I'm reading shows that at my age that won't happen. Is it possible to get an age waiver?

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, Im prepping for deployment.

I believe that if you had an aeronautical Science degree that they do take that in to consideration and work it into the age thing. If not... I honestly cant tell you. But I can tell you this, from my experience the Navy is close to the Air Force in regulations, In the Air Force, the cut off to be a pilot is 27. So with that being said its a very good possibility that 36 would exceed the cutoff.

I have spent the past 20 years in the U.S. Air Force, 3 years was assigned as an Enlisted Accessions Recruiter. I have been deployed various times to several locations. If it is a career in the military you are looking for or thinking about I most likely have the answer. If you are planning on joining the military, your number 1 decision factor in making this kind of move is that you need to be more concerned about serving your country than your country serving you!! All the benefits are the best that you can find. Education is at a premium right now and its the most rewarding thing that you can do. If I dont answer right away probably means that I am busy, but have patience, I will get to you.
