Sir,

My sister is currently in the ROTC, and wishes to become a military pilot.  I recommended that if she really was interested in flying, that she take a look at all services to see who averages the most flight hours.  Disregarding combat flight hours, what is the average "garrison" flight hours per service (including USCG) per month?

What does she want to fly?  I ask because helicopter flying time in the Services would need to be broken out.  Currently it's all lumped together as flying hours to get money from Congress.

For example the USCG flying hours is surprisingly large, but the bulk of it is done in their HH-60 Jayhawk helicopters, while the HC-130 flies but a small percentage of those hours.

Send me a "follow-up" question stating which you want so I can answer the questions.  Is she looking to see which service might possibly give her the most flying time?  Which Service's ROTC is she in?
