Question
I was separated in August of 2006 for ELPAC failure to adapt and my RE code is 3F and now I cant reenlist in any branch basically. I admit I messed up when I was 17. Im going to be 21 this June and I dont have a thing going for me. How can I get my code changed? I submitted a DD 149 to the Naval board yesterday and mailed it to Washington DC but Im not sure if they will change it or not.

Basically, you've done everything you CAN do at this point. It's going to be a waiting game now. If your discharge was otherwise honorable and the only issue was 'fail to adapt', then you might stand a chance, it'll depend on what's contained in the rest of your records.

Did a hitch in the Army reserves as an 11B (Infantryman), 3 years. Finished out my career in the Air National Guard as a BioEnvironmental Engineer MOS 4B3X1, did that for a few years.
