Question
I got discharged with an RE-8 reentry code can you please help me understand what it means. I have not been able to find any information whatso ever on the code online and my recruitter has no idea. As far as we know the code does not exist. Any help you can give would be great thank you so much.

Each of the Services have variations or subdivisions of the 4 basic Reenlistment Eligibility (RE) codes, but there are only 4.  The typist preparing your discharge paperwork must've slipped.  You need somebody from your Service's personnel office to check your records and see what's really going on.  Is your separation code correct?  It should be 3 letter or 3 numbers, found on the same form as your RE code.  You need to ensure it's correct also.
