Question
Colonel H

I have contacted other recruiters in other states and they are saying that their manual says the code isn't waiverable. I'm sure there is a navy recruiter that can try to get a waiver processed for me. I know you said maybe I should wait until the new quota comes out but I'm really eager to get something rolling now. I just started writing my appeal to send to the board for my discharge upgrade, and I also plan on contacting the Congressman after I submitt my appeal. Please...I'm trying to get as much help as I can get. So if it isn't too much, could you please see if you possibly know someone that can help me with my situation, it will be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Shaina,
Was your discharge under "General Conditions", or was it under "Other-Than-Honorable Conditions"?

As I said previously, individuals with an Air Force RE Code of "2" are usually ineligible to reenlist in the Air Force, but might be eligible to join another military service, if the circumstances which resulted in the code no longer apply, or if a waiver is issued.
You apparently accepted the discharge because you got out.  It's going to be hard now to say "two months ago I was mistaken."  I know of nobody better than your Congressman to help you at this point.
