Question
I took the color blind test and fail but I don't have a problem seeing green and red. Will this effect me joining the marines? I also have 20/10 vision and would like to be in the infantry.

Answer
Samuel,
Red green color-blindness is the mildest form of color-blindness and it will NOT keep you from joining the Marines.  It will restrict you from some jobs, such as EOD where you need to know the color of wires on an explosive.  I don't think any of the Infantry jobs will restrict you unless it's due to reading maps.

I know the Army actually wants color-blind people because they supposedly can identify camouflaged objects, people, etc. much easier.  They use distinguishing factors other than color to identify hidden objects.

Your recruiter should have the very latest info on Infantry requirements.
